BBQ Sauce - Shotgun Red's
Serves 8-10

Qty Size Ingredient
2 cups Simply Heinz Tomato Ketchup *
1 10oz Rotel's Original Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies** (drained)
4 strips Flat Anchovies in Olive Oil
½ cup Grandma's Unsulfured Molasses
½ cup Dark Brown Sugar
½ cup Sweet Onion
¼ cup Orange Juice
¼ cup Clover Blossom Honey
¼ cup Apple Cider Vinegar
¼ cup Pure Apple Juice
¼ cup Welches Grape Jelly
3 tsp Fresh Ground Black Pepper
1 tsp Coleman's Dry Mustard
1 tsp Garlic Powder
1 tsp Onion Powder
1 tsp Lea & Perrins Worcestershire Sauce
¼ tsp Colgin's Apple Liquid Smoke ***

To your blender add the Rotel's Original Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies (after draining), anchovies, brown sugar, onion and molasses and blend until thoroughly puréed.

Place everything in a sauce pan and simmer for 2 hours, uncovered, stirring occasionally.  Then chill and let steep for 3 days before using.

Transfer into a squeeze bottle and...


* Simply Heinz Tomato Ketchup is made with cane sugar instead of fructose.
** Rotel's Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies comes in "Mild". "Original" and "Hot" in case you would like it a little more or less spicy.
*** You can use whichever flavor or Liquid Smoke that floats your boat.  Apple, Hickory, Mesquite or Pecan
